The Redisage G20 is a dedicated gateway designed to integrate utility meters (M-Bus standard) with building automation systems (Modbus TCP). Ideally suited for Energy Management Systems (EMS), it acts as a translator between the complex M-Bus protocol and the universal Modbus standard.
The device independently queries M-Bus meters and maps the retrieved data into Modbus Holding Registers, making them easily accessible to any PLC or SCADA via Ethernet. Key features:
• Input: M-Bus Master (supports heat/water/gas meters)
• Output: Modbus TCP (Ethernet) & Modbus RTU (RS485)
• Function: Automatic data mapping
• Power Supply: 12-30 VDC
• Configuration: Intuitive Web Interface
The G20 M-Bus to Modbus Gateway solves one of the most common problems in building automation: integrating specialized metering devices into the central control system. M-Bus is excellent for reading meters but is rarely supported directly by PLCs. The G20 acts as an interpreter, autonomously polling heat, water, and electricity meters over the M-Bus interface and storing the data in its internal memory.
From the perspective of the BMS or SCADA system, the G20 behaves like a standard Modbus TCP Server (via Ethernet) or Modbus RTU Slave (via RS485). The system simply reads data from registers, without needing to know the complexity of M-Bus frames. The gateway configuration is performed via a user-friendly Web Server, allowing you to scan the M-Bus network, select variables, and assign them to Modbus registers in minutes.
This device handles the physical power supply for the M-Bus network (built-in level converter) and ensures galvanic isolation between the metering section and the Ethernet network.
