The Redisage G14 is a specialized Modbus Gateway designed to modernize systems based on the RS232 standard. It allows up to 4 legacy devices (such as barcode scanners, scales, or older PLCs) to be integrated into a Modbus TCP network via a single Ethernet connection.
Powered by an STM32F4 microcontroller, the device performs real-time protocol conversion between Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU/ASCII. Key features:
• Ports: 4x RS232 (independent configuration)
• Configuration: Web browser (built-in web server), Telnet or serial console
• Protocol Conversion: Intelligent Modbus TCP ↔ RTU/ASCII translation
• Operating Modes: Gateway (Master or Slave support)
• Power Supply: 12-30 VDC
• Protection: Industrial EMC & ESD design
The G14 Modbus Gateway is an industrial-grade device that bridges the gap between older RS232-based hardware and modern Modbus TCP networks. Unlike a simple serial server, the G14 actively interprets Modbus packets. When a SCADA system sends a Modbus TCP request, the G14 strips the TCP header, recalculates the checksum, and transmits a valid Modbus RTU frame to one of its 4 RS232 ports.
Each of the four ports can be configured independently. This means one port can operate in Gateway Mode (connecting to Slave devices like meters), while another operates in Router Mode (connecting to a legacy Master HMI). This flexibility allows for complex network architectures within a single device. The STM32F4 processor ensures minimal latency even under heavy traffic.
Technical Specifications:The G14 is the optimal solution for retrofitting factories and integrating RS232 silos into the main plant network. Full configuration guide available in the manual.
