The Redisage C11 is designed for applications where the protection of the master device (e.g., a PC or an expensive PLC) is the priority. This model features 3000 VDC galvanic isolation on the RS232 side. The RS485 output shares the ground potential with the power supply.
This configuration is ideal when the converter is powered from the same source as field devices, but the control unit requires strict separation. Key features:
• Isolation: RS232 Side (Separates PC/PLC from the rest)
• Interface: RS232 (Screw terminal) to RS485
• Speed: Transparent up to 115200 bps
• Control: Hardware ADDC (No RTS control needed)
• Power Supply: 12-30 VDC
The C11 Converter bridges the gap between the short-range RS232 standard and the long-range RS485 bus. Its unique feature is the placement of the isolation barrier on the RS232 side. This means the RS232 port is electrically floating relative to the power supply and the RS485 output.
This design is specifically chosen for scenarios where the field bus (RS485) and the power supply share a common ground (common in cabinet wiring), but the computer or controller connected via RS232 must be protected from noise and ground faults occurring on the factory floor. The device supports baud rates from 300 to 115200 bps with automatic flow control.
